Hey there! Welcome to Sable Creek Homestead. Once upon a time, we stumbled on a stunning scene among the prairies of Minooka, not far from Chicago. It was love at first sight, and we’re sure you’ll be just as head over heels.
Our beautiful 1930s barn has been lovingly restored and fitted with a range of modern amenities. It sits within an acre of lush wildflowers and gently swaying grasses, with the charming Aux Sable Creek trickling gently just beyond. Does that sound dreamy or what?
We gave our land back to nature, making for enchanting outdoor ceremonies amongst wildflowers buzzing with wildlife. It’s our little present to the prairie state of Illinois – a small step towards restoration.
Meanwhile, the barn itself also offers a truly flexible reception space. It’s your chance to get creative, but don’t worry! We’ve been in the wedding planning industry for years, so you’ll have plenty of experience, resources, and planning tools on your side. Sounds like a plan?
A modern barn wedding venue for the new-age
Unlike other barn wedding venues in northern Illinois, ours expertly blends original features with a contemporary finish and customized design. Not your average roll in the hay, the building has an original wood vaulted ceiling and pulley system still in place. Of course, we haven’t compromised on wedding day essentials such as a bar and special lounge for getting ready. On top of that we’ve got everything you need to make the day run without a hitch, including indoor bathrooms and full climate control. You can rely on us all year round to meet and exceed all your expectations!
Dreamy scenes for your outdoor wedding ceremony
Do you dream of nature-inspired nuptials, surrounded by a flutter of florals and wildlife? We know a place! Our outdoor wedding ceremony locations are set among an acre of rewilded prairie land, complete with colorful blooms and native prairie grasses. Very much a part of the family, our 100-year-old elm tree provides the perfect backdrop for a serene ceremony to remember. Don’t worry – we have a backup plan in place in case the weather starts making things difficult!

Craving the cost-savings of a DIY wedding but wondering how on Earth you’ll actually ‘do it yourself? We blend the best of both worlds by offering a huge range of onsite decor items and coordination from the start of the process right through to the special day itself. Resources, planning tools, supplier lists – you name it – we have it all at your disposal. Custom, yet cost-effective, this approach is a marriage made in heaven and you can rest assured you won’t be hit with any unexpected hidden costs or unnecessary expenses when you come to our door!
